Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Tochukwu Okechukwu, popularly known as Tochi, has weighed in on the ongoing feud between businessman Blord and social media activist VeryDarkMan over the alleged fake iPhone 17 saga.
In a post shared via his Instagram story, Tochi criticised the parties involved, describing their actions as a reflection of growing materialism and misplaced priorities among self-proclaimed activists.
He stated that genuine activism demands discipline and focus, not attention-seeking or pursuit of personal gain.
“You’re not an activist just because you’re stubborn. True activism takes discipline,” Tochi wrote. “Now that you’ve made a little money, suddenly the nation’s problems have turned into an obsession with the iPhone 17. Back when you were in your room drinking pure water, you actually made sense.”
Tochi’s remarks come amid widespread reactions to the clash between Blord and VeryDarkMan. The dispute began after Blord was accused of selling a modified iPhone XR as an iPhone 17 Pro Max. The allegation, amplified by VeryDarkMan, sparked heated exchanges and public scrutiny over consumer deceit and online credibility.
Concluding his post, Tochi condemned what he called the “hypocrisy” of public figures who thrive on controversy rather than genuine social impact.
“All these flashy phones and gadgets you’re flaunting—it’s all just noise. You’re not different from the rest; same game, same hypocrisy. You just want to sell your market,” he added.
