Afrobeats superstar Wizkid thrilled fans with a surprise appearance at Gunna’s headline show during Monday night’s Detty December Fest, creating one of the festival’s most memorable moments.

The unannounced cameo came midway through Gunna’s set at Ilubirin, Ikoyi, as the beat shifted to their collaborative track, “Forever Be Mine.” Wizkid then took the stage to roaring applause, joining Gunna for a brief live rendition of the song.

The track, featured on Gunna’s 2025 album The Last Wun, was performed live for only the second time, following its debut at Afro+ Fest in Washington, D.C., in September.

Dressed in black, the two artists shared a brief embrace before launching into the performance. Wizkid delivered his verse as fans sang along, while Gunna maintained the flow of the set. At the end, Gunna encouraged the crowd: “Make some noise for my brother Wizkid!”

The Lagos concert was part of Gunna’s Wun World Tour, with the American rapper closing the night as headliner. Earlier performances included Jamaican dancehall star Shenseea, along with singers Fave and Tiwa Savage.

Wizkid’s surprise appearance capped a busy Detty December run, which also featured his sold-out concert on December 28, earning praise from fellow artists, including Olamide.
