Wizkid, Ayra Starr Shine at 2026 MOBO Awards

Music stars Wizkid and Ayra Starr, along with British-Nigerian media personality Niko Omilana, were among the winners at the 2026 MOBO Awards held in Manchester, United Kingdom.

Wizkid won the Best African Music Act award, beating fellow Nigerians Davido, Rema, Shallipopi, Tiwa Savage, and Adekunle Gold.

Ayra Starr claimed the Best International Act prize, surpassing global stars such as Cardi B, Gunna, and Kehlani.

Niko Omilana emerged as the winner of the Best Media Personality category, beating nominees including Bemi Orojuogun, popularly known as Bus Aunty, and DJ Remi Burgz.

The 2026 edition of the MOBO Awards, the first held in Manchester, celebrated Black music and culture, honoring several international stars that night.

Other celebrities of Nigerian descent also made the nominees list, including German-Nigerian singer Odeal, nominated for Best Male Act and Best R&B/Soul Act, and British actors Wunmi Mosaku, Damson Idris, Dayo Koleosho, and Cynthia Erivo, nominated in the Best Performance in a TV Show/Film category.
