Prince Ambassador (Dr.) Adedipe Dauda Ewenla has been elected as the Southwest Ex-Officio of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). The announcement, made on April 16, 2025, marks a significant moment in the party’s Southwest leadership.

Gratitude to Party Leaders

In a statement following his election, Prince Ewenla expressed deep appreciation to party leaders and members across Lagos State and the Southwest. He praised the leadership of Lagos State PDP, including influential figures such as Chief Olabode Ibikunle George, the Atona Oodua, and Dr. Abimbola Ogunkelu for their unwavering support.

“I am grateful to the leadership of Lagos State PDP for their immense support,” Prince Ewenla said. He also recognized the contributions of Dr. Phillips Aivoji, Chairman of Lagos PDP, and Mr. Adegboyega Adegbesan, Chair of Chairs, for their efforts to unite the party’s executives.

Prince Ewenla took a moment to acknowledge the vital roles women play within the party. He praised notable matriarchs such as Chief Mrs. Aduke Maina, State Woman Leader Alhaja Idowu Akinsanya, and Chief Mrs. Yeye Oge Alhaja Mojisola Kariola Balogun. He assured them, “When it’s time to celebrate, none of you will be left out.”

The Prince also praised youth leaders Agboola Akinpelu and Olabinjo Ibrahim (BJ), as well as the entire youth wing of Lagos PDP. Their energy and commitment, he noted, were essential to the party’s growth and success.

As a native of Alimosho, Prince Ewenla thanked the local PDP leadership. He acknowledged the contributions of Hon. Shodiya Isiaka and Elder Council Chairman Hon. Alani Ige for their financial, moral, and logistical support. He also recognized his close allies, including Evangelist Shodiya Adebayo, Ologundudu Rotimi, and Omisope Adewale (Champion), who have stood by him throughout his journey.

Appreciation to Southwest Governors

Prince Ewenla extended his gratitude to two key Southwest PDP leaders, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State. He expressed his thanks for their confidence in his leadership and their dedication to the party’s progress.

In his closing remarks, Prince Ewenla reaffirmed his commitment to the PDP’s growth in the Southwest and beyond. He promised to serve the party with humility, integrity, and dedication. He wished for continued unity and success for the party and its stakeholders.
