The event, held at Fidelity Bank’s Head Office—Fidelity Place, Lagos—also marked the formal inauguration of the 2025–2027 Executive Committee.

In his acceptance remarks, Onuoha emphasized a renewed focus on technical capacity building and professional excellence across the Bank.

“Our administration will prioritize continuous learning and skill development to empower our members with the knowledge required to excel in today’s rapidly evolving financial sector,” he stated.

A Chartered Accountant, data scientist, and anti-money laundering expert, Onuoha pledged to sustain the Chapter’s progress while deepening strategic collaboration between ICAN and Fidelity Bank.

“We aim to strengthen the synergy between both institutions and grow our membership base, thereby enriching Fidelity’s intellectual capital,” he added.

Delivering the keynote, Mr. Jude Monye, Regional Bank Head–Ikeja at Fidelity Bank, charged the new leadership to make capacity building a strategic imperative.

“Professional development is non-negotiable. Let your tenure be defined by initiatives that empower members to lead with competence and vision,” Monye urged.

He commended the Chapter’s growth trajectory, attributing its success to strong institutional support, particularly from the Bank’s Managing Director/CEO, Dr. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe.

“The Chapter’s evolution into a dynamic hub for professional growth reflects the Bank’s commitment to excellence in human capital development,” Monye noted.

Outgoing Chairman, Mr. Victor Abejegah, recounted notable achievements under his tenure, including entrepreneurship training in agriculture and export, and enhanced welfare support for members and bereaved families.

A highlight of the ceremony was the conferment of Patron status on Mr. Stanley Amuchie, Executive Director/Chief Operations and Information Officer of Fidelity Bank Plc, in recognition of his distinguished 25-year service in the banking industry.

“This honour is a call to service—as a mentor, advocate, and bridge between ICAN and the Fidelity community,” Amuchie remarked.

The ceremony concluded with the swearing-in of the new executive team by ICAN’s 61st President, Mallam Haruna Yahaya, ushering in a new chapter of progressive leadership.
