Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner, Phyna, has lost her sister, Ruth Otabor, following a tragic truck accident.
On Sunday, August 31, 2025, Eko Solicitors & Advocates announced Ruth’s death on behalf of the Otabor family. Phyna also shared the statement on her Instagram handle.
“With a heavy heart, the family regrets to announce the passing on to glory of their daughter, sister, and mother on this 31st Day of August, 2025 at about 06:30Hrs,” the statement read.
The family asked the public for privacy as they grieve. They promised to share funeral details in due time.
How the Truck Accident Happened
On August 13, 2025, a truck belonging to the Dangote Group hit Ruth near Auchi Polytechnic in Edo State.
The collision crushed her leg, which doctors later amputated. Eyewitnesses said a bystander stopped the truck after the crash.
A Painful Loss for the Otabor Family
The accident happened just six days after Ruth graduated from Auchi Polytechnic. Her untimely death has left her family, friends, and fans heartbroken.
