Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, and former Cross River State Governor Liyel Imoke on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, at his palace in Ibadan.
The high-profile delegation congratulated the monarch on his coronation as the 44th Olubadan, describing his ascension as a unifying moment for the Yoruba race and Nigeria at large. The visit also underscored the growing ties between traditional leadership and political stakeholders in the country.
Coming just days after the coronation, the event marked the first major courtesy call from leading political figures to Oba Ladoja, who is widely respected for his influence and long-standing contributions to Ibadan’s socio-political landscape.
Atiku and El-Rufai, both influential voices in the coalition platform, the African Democratic Congress (ADC), were joined by Imoke in reaffirming their respect for the institution of the Olubadan and its role in fostering unity, peace, and development in the South-West and beyond.
