Nollywood actress Anita Joseph has openly criticised businessman and politician Ned Nwoko over his alleged treatment of his estranged wife, Regina Daniels, and her family.
Her reaction followed reports that Regina’s brother, Sammy West, was detained amid rising tensions between both families.
In a post shared on Instagram on Friday, Anita stated that although she usually refrains from commenting on marital disputes, she found the situation concerning and unacceptable.
She accused Nwoko of allegedly using his influence against his wife’s relatives and questioned whether he had made any effort toward reconciliation. The actress urged him to ensure Sammy West’s immediate release, stressing that marriage should never be forced.
Anita also expressed disappointment that no government authority had intervened in the matter, pledging her support and prayers for Regina Daniels during what she described as a difficult time.
She wrote, “I don’t interfere in husband and wife matters, but this one isn’t right. Only in Nigeria can this happen. Why are you bullying your wife’s family? Did you even leave room for reconciliation? Free Sammy now! If Regina wants out, let her go—marriage isn’t by force. Shalom.”
She added, “This is unfair. What happened? Why the bullying? Why is no one in government taking action? Even now, the Lord won’t forsake Regina. God’s got you, my darling Gina.”
