Popular Nollywood actor and producer, Femi Adebayo, has shared why he left his law career to fully embrace acting.
Speaking in an interview with Pulse, Femi disclosed that he was earning only ₦20,000 monthly as a lawyer until an acting role changed everything for him.
“Acting was just a hobby for me then. But I got an offer of ₦50,000 to act for three days. Meanwhile, my monthly salary as a lawyer was ₦20,000. That was when I told myself, ‘Femi, acting is your calling,’” he said.
Meanwhile, veteran actor Afeez Oyetoro, popularly known as Saka, has also opened up about his struggles in the movie industry.
Speaking with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Saka revealed that his lack of money affected his confidence and prevented him from approaching women he liked.
He said acting brought neither income nor recognition at the time, and many people did not take actors seriously. According to him, his financial situation made some women see him as someone with no future.
He recalled how a woman he wanted to marry told him she would only agree if he owned two cars.
