The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has declared that President Bola Tinubu will be removed from office through democratic votes and not through violence.
This comes after Tinubu’s spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, alleged that the opposition was planning to overthrow the government. Reacting, ADC’s Interim National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, described Onanuga’s statement as reckless and baseless.
According to Abdullahi, Onanuga’s claims show that Tinubu’s administration is planning to intimidate and repress opposition leaders ahead of 2027.
“The ADC is not interested in truncating democracy. We are politicians, not soldiers. We don’t have bullets; we have ballots,” he said.
He insisted that the party remains committed to using democratic means to remove Tinubu, stressing that Nigerians deserve an alternative vision and solution to the country’s challenges.
