Popular Nigerian singer, Timi Dakolo, has responded tenderly to an emotional letter from his daughter, Hallel Dakolo, in which she expressed feelings of being unfairly treated by her mother, Busola Dakolo.

In the heartfelt letter, Hallel opened up about a recent misunderstanding at home. According to her, the disagreement began after her sibling, Alex, got upset that she chose to sleep in her father’s room. The incident reportedly triggered a series of emotional reactions within the family.

“It all started when Alex was angry that I came to your room to sleep and started showing signs of aggressiveness,” Hallel wrote.

She further admitted to using the word “irrelevant” during the altercation — a word her father had previously warned her not to use. Acknowledging her mistake, she said, “Although you’ve warned me many times not to use it and I accept what I did was wrong, one thing that doesn’t sit right with me is my mother’s unfair behavior towards me.”

Hallel also revealed that she tried to cope by asking to listen to a message by T.D. Jakes to help her sleep but was denied permission, despite her calm approach.

“I’ve been feeling weird lately and I need the word of God in the form I can understand… I kept calm and never raised my voice,” she explained, noting that her mother was more upset with her than with her siblings in similar situations.

Despite believing her father might side with her mother, Hallel bravely chose to share her feelings, hoping for fairness.

Timi Dakolo, known for his strong family values, responded with warmth and wisdom. He began by praising his daughter’s writing talent and assured her of his love.

“My Favorite Halleluyah, first of all, I love how you write. See me prouding and smiling as I read your message. You write so well for your age,” he wrote.

He assured Hallel that he had spoken to her mother about the issue and was not taking sides.

Timi went on to explain Busola’s perspective, saying she sometimes feels unheard and gets exhausted from having to repeat herself. However, he emphasized that Busola loves and understands Hallel deeply.

“She even explains you to me when I don’t. Always saying, ‘please don’t forget Hallel is growing fast, she needs this and that,’” he added.

The singer encouraged his daughter to be patient and reminded her of the deep love both parents have for her. He playfully concluded by teasing about bringing a special gift on his next visit — possibly an Apple desktop.

The exchange, which has now drawn public attention, has been widely praised online. Many fans have applauded the Dakolo family’s openness and Timi’s balanced, sensitive response to such a delicate matter.

The story serves as a touching reminder of the importance of communication and emotional honesty within families.
