Temi Otedola, daughter of Nigerian billionaire Femi Otedola, has opened up about her decision to adopt her husband Tosin Ajibade’s name, popularly known as Mr Eazi, following their wedding.
The revelation came after Temi sparked public discussion by dropping her father’s surname, Otedola, in favor of her husband’s.
In a recent interview with the BBC, Temi explained that taking her spouse’s name was a personal choice aligned with her marital status.
“I’m now a married woman, and it made sense for me to take my husband’s name. But it’s a personal choice, and I respect every woman’s right to decide,” she shared.
She also reflected on the importance of privacy in relationships, noting that maintaining discretion allowed her to craft the narrative she wanted before sharing it publicly.
“Moving in silence allows you to build the story you want and share it when and how you’re ready,” Temi added.
DJ Cuppy Celebrates Marriage as a Powerful Partnership
Meanwhile, Temi’s sister, Florence Otedola, professionally known as DJ Cuppy, highlighted the significance of marriage as a profound partnership.
On Twitter, DJ Cuppy described marriage as more than just a legal union—it is a bond, a shared purpose, and a foundation for family, with God as the ultimate witness.
“Call me old school, but I see marriage as the most powerful partnership in life. Maybe even the most important contract you will ever sign… with God Himself as the witness,” she tweeted.
She continued, celebrating Temi’s new chapter:
“Seeing my baby sister Temi become Mrs Ajibade reminds me that marriage is far from outdated. With the right person, it pulls you closer to purpose and builds love, family, and legacy.”
