The Taraba State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has issued a strong warning to its members. The party said it will expel anyone who accepts political appointments from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) without proper clearance.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the APC declared that no member should take up any position from the ruling PDP government. State Chairman, Barrister Ibrahim Tukur El-Sudi, signed the statement and made the warning clear.

The APC directed its 16 local government chairmen to identify members who have accepted roles under the PDP administration. These individuals will not participate in the upcoming electronic registration exercise.

In addition, the party ordered 168 ward chairmen to immediately remove the names of such members from the official register. According to the leadership, loyalty to the party must remain firm and unquestionable.

The party referred to Article 9.5 of its Constitution (Amended 2022). It states that members who accept political appointments from another party, without the National Working Committee’s (NWC) approval, will lose their membership automatically.

El-Sudi stressed this point: “Once a member accepts an appointment from another party’s government without NWC approval, they are no longer with us.”

Despite its tough stance, the APC praised members who have stayed true to the party. The statement acknowledged their patience, discipline, and commitment during recent political developments.

“We are grateful to all principled and law-abiding members,” El-Sudi said. “Your loyalty will be rewarded in due time.”

Reaction to Governor Kefas’ Appointments

The APC’s warning follows recent appointments by Governor Agbu Kefas of the PDP. Reports indicate that several APC members were included in the governor’s latest list of aides.

This development angered the opposition party. APC leaders believe the appointments aim to divide and weaken the party from within.

The Taraba APC has drawn a clear line. Any member who joins the PDP-led government without NWC clearance will face swift consequences. The party insists that commitment and discipline must guide every political action.
