Prominent legal expert and Principal Partner at Robert Clarke SAN & Ade Oshodi Partners, Shakeer Adedayo Oshodi, received the SDNON Excellence in Legal Innovation Award on Friday, May 2. The Society of Digital Newspaper Owners of Nigeria (SDNON) honoured him for his bold contributions to legal innovation in Nigeria.
SDNON President, Adeniyi Ifetayo, presented the award. He quoted John F. Kennedy’s words: “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.” He praised Oshodi for living out this principle through decades of impactful legal service.
The event attracted several notable figures from the media and legal space. SDNON’s General Secretary, Oluwaseun ‘Seunmanuel’ Faleye, and Public Relations Officer, Kanyinulia Okeke, were among the attendees. Barrister A.O. Afolabi, one of Oshodi’s mentees, praised him as “a legal icon who has shaped many rising stars in the field.”
During his speech, Oshodi expressed deep gratitude. He compared the honour to one of his career’s proudest moments, being handed leadership of the firm by Chief Robert Clarke SAN. “This feels just like the day I was asked to take over the firm,” he said. “It’s a force that inspires me to do more.”
A Career Marked by Excellence and Service
Oshodi has practiced law for over 20 years, gaining respect in multiple fields. He holds LLB and LLM degrees from the University of Lagos and became a Notary Public in 2014. His firm, established through a 2022 merger, operates in Corporate Law, Oil & Gas, Property, Aviation, and Criminal Law.
He also offers pro bono services to support access to justice for underserved Nigerians. Outside the legal field, Oshodi is Vice President of Eko Club and a member of Ikoyi Club 1938. He enjoys chess, swimming, and team sports, balancing intellect with energy.
In his closing words, Oshodi said the award is not a finish line. “This recognition is not an endpoint but a catalyst for greater service,” he affirmed.
With this recognition, Shakeer A. Oshodi strengthens his legacy as a legal reformer and mentor to future leaders.
