Samuel Ojeogwu, popularly known as Sammy West and brother of Nollywood star Regina Daniels, has been granted bail of ₦5 million after several days in detention.

The bail was approved on Monday, November 10, 2025, following his initial remand at Keffi Prison by a Dutse Magistrate Court. He was later transferred to Suleja Prison during the proceedings.

Sammy’s elder brother, @Sweezzy1, shared the news on Instagram, writing: “Sammy, you are a great man. Bail has been granted! Nigerians, thank you.”

Police Earlier Confirmed Arrest and Court Appearance

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command confirmed Sammy’s arrest and arraignment on Friday, November 7, 2025. The spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, stated that the arrest followed a petition received on October 28, which accused Sammy and three others of criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, criminal intimidation, theft, and cyber-bullying.

According to the police, Sammy initially failed to respond to invitations for questioning, leading to his arrest in Lagos under a court-issued warrant. He was then transferred to Abuja for further investigation and arraigned on Thursday, November 6, 2025.

SP Adeh noted: “Upon receipt of the petition, multiple invitations were extended to Mr. Samuel Ojeogwu for questioning, which were not honoured. He was subsequently arrested in Lagos on a valid court warrant and conveyed to Abuja for investigation. He was charged on November 6, 2025, for offences including criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, criminal intimidation, and theft, and was remanded pending bail conditions.”
