Plan International Nigeria will take the lead at the Africa Social Impact Summit 4.0, highlighting urgent issues around girls’ rights, safety, and empowerment.

As a key theme partner, the organisation will push for stronger policies, resilient systems, and high-impact partnerships. These efforts aim to protect and uplift adolescent girls—especially those in crisis and recovery situations.

Country Director, Charles Usie, emphasized the importance of inclusive development.

“The conversation around progress is incomplete if girls are left behind,” he said. “ASIS gives us the space to demand real change for girls facing risk and inequality.”

At the summit, Plan International Nigeria will join panels and working groups that address youth policies, education financing, and gender-focused development. In addition, it will share inspiring, community-based stories that show the power of long-term support for girls.

CEO of Sterling One Foundation, Olapeju Ibekwe, praised the organisation’s role.

“Plan International Nigeria does more than speak for girls. It defends their position at the centre of every policy decision,” she said. “Their presence pushes every stakeholder to act with intention and urgency.”

The Africa Social Impact Summit will run from July 10 to 11, 2025, at the Eko Convention Centre, Lagos. Registration is open at theimpactsummit.org.
