Drama as the National Publicity Secretary of the Labour Party, Abayomi Arabambi, declares that Peter Obi is no longer a member of the party.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Morning Brief, Arabambi revealed that the party will soon hold a National Executive Council (NEC) meeting to recommend Obi’s expulsion over alleged anti-party activities.

“You don’t join a political party and still keep your leg in another party. He knows it’s unconstitutional to belong to two parties at the same time,” Arabambi said.

He accused Obi, a former Anambra State governor, of aligning with other parties against Labour Party’s interest, adding that the NEC will recommend his expulsion, which will be finalised at the party convention.

Meanwhile, Peter Obi has maintained that he remains a strong member of the Labour Party despite his involvement in the opposition coalition led by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to unseat President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

Reacting to accusations of anti-party activities, Obi said during Channels Television’s Sunday Politics that his actions are aimed at ensuring better governance for Nigeria, adding that the coalition seeks a government with competence, capacity, and character to deliver.
