The Federal Government, led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has announced the official theme for Nigeria’s 2025 Independence Anniversary.

The celebration is themed “Nigeria @ 65: All Hands on Deck for a Greater Nation.” It was disclosed on Wednesday in a statement by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations at the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).

According to the statement, the theme highlights the need for unity, collaboration, and patriotism across all sectors, public, private, and civil society. It also calls on citizens to work together toward a nation built on peace, prosperity, and sustainable growth.

The government noted that since independence on October 1, 1960, Nigeria has overcome major challenges and recorded notable achievements in different sectors of the economy. Consolidating these successes, it stressed, will require collective effort to build a stronger and more inclusive nation.

All government activities and programmes for the 65th Independence Anniversary will align with this theme and reinforce the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Key events include a Juma’at Prayer on Friday, September 26, at 1 p.m., an Inter-Denominational Church Service on Sunday, September 28, at 10 a.m., and a World Press Conference on Monday, September 29, at 10 a.m.
