Factional National Chairman of the Labour Party, Julius Abure, has urged Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti, to stop deceiving Nigerians about his political affiliation.

Abure said Governor Otti should openly join Peter Obi and other party members who have moved to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

In a statement issued on Friday in Abuja, Abure accused Otti of double standards, stating:

“Our attention has been drawn to Otti’s interview where he claimed he is still in Labour Party. How can he be when he conducted Abia’s local government elections using Zenith Labour Party?

“He is funding the illegal caretaker committee that has now joined ADC. The unveiling on Wednesday showed every member of that caretaker committee formally joining ADC.”

Abure insisted Labour Party had already suspended Otti indefinitely for anti-party activities.

He stressed that Labour Party is eager to reposition ahead of 2027, saying:

“We are ready to let go of opportunistic politicians with selfish interests. Labour Party will not join any ideologically bereft coalition. We are sanitising the party for true democrats with Nigeria at heart.”

Abure concluded by urging Otti to move on, stating he cannot remain in Labour Party while working against it.
