The Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency (LASAA) has restated its commitment to maintaining visual order and public safety across Lagos during an oversight visit by members of the Lagos State House of Assembly’s Committee on Environment.
The delegation, led by the Committee Chairman, Honourable Shabi Rasheed Adekola, met with the LASAA management team at the agency’s headquarters as part of their statutory oversight function. The visit provided an opportunity to review LASAA’s performance, regulatory compliance, and strategic direction.
Addressing the lawmakers, LASAA Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Prince Fatiu Akiolu, expressed appreciation to the committee for its continuous support and guidance. He reaffirmed the agency’s resolve to promote best practices in outdoor advertising regulation and contribute to a clean, safe, and visually appealing Lagos.
“We remain dedicated to upholding global standards in outdoor advertising while ensuring that Lagos retains its aesthetic appeal and safety,” Akiolu stated. “Our mission aligns with the state’s vision for sustainable urban development.”
In his remarks, Honourable Adekola commended LASAA’s operational efficiency and its efforts in maintaining orderliness through effective signage regulation. He lauded Prince Akiolu’s leadership and urged continued collaboration between the legislature and government agencies to ensure accountability and efficient service delivery.
“LASAA plays a crucial role in keeping Lagos clean and visually organised,” Adekola noted. “Strong partnerships between the Assembly and agencies like LASAA are vital to achieving Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s development agenda.”
The committee chairman further encouraged the agency to intensify public sensitization on its regulatory activities to boost compliance and enhance revenue generation. He also stressed the importance of assuring residents that all outdoor advertising structures across the state meet strict safety standards.
The visit concluded with both parties reaffirming their shared commitment to transparency, innovation, and continuous improvement in the management of Lagos’ visual environment.
