The Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency (LASAA) has launched an internal investigation into allegations that one of its staff received payments for signage services through a personal bank account.
In a statement issued by the agency’s management, LASAA said it became aware of the claims following a viral social media post. The agency described the allegations as “serious” and emphasized that such actions, if confirmed, violate its financial and ethical standards as well as the Lagos State Civil Service rules.
Following directives from the Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Mr. Tokunbo Wahab, the implicated staff member has been identified and instructed to report to LASAA’s head office for investigation and possible disciplinary action.
The agency reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct in all its dealings. It further reminded clients and stakeholders that all payments for LASAA services must be made exclusively through official government channels.
LASAA also commended members of the public for their vigilance and assured that appropriate corrective measures will be taken to maintain public trust and uphold the integrity of its operations.
The agency stated that further details will be shared as the investigation continues.
