The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will on Tuesday, June 17, officially launch its campaign ahead of the July 12 local government elections.

According to the party’s Publicity Secretary, Mr. Seye Oladejo, the event will also feature the official presentation of party flags to its chairmanship and councillorship candidates. The flag-off ceremony is scheduled to take place at the APC State Secretariat in Ogba.

Oladejo noted that the campaign has been strategically decentralised across the three senatorial districts — Lagos East, Lagos Central, and Lagos West — with Lagos West split into two zones due to its size.

He added that the ceremony will be attended by top party leaders, elected officials, and appointees across all levels of government.

“The party has directed its leadership at the local level to establish Local Organising Committees (LOCs) that will drive grassroots mobilisation efforts. These committees are expected to take the campaign to every nook and cranny of the state,” Oladejo said.

He further stated that the APC will highlight the landmark achievements of outgoing council administrations, ongoing social intervention programmes, and the party’s renewed commitment to delivering more dividends of democracy in line with its core values.

The APC spokesperson encouraged residents to participate actively in the forthcoming elections by exercising their civic rights.

In line with electoral guidelines, the party’s campaign will end on July 11, a day before the polls.

Recall that APC conducted its primaries on May 10 and produced candidates for chairmanship and councillorship positions across the 20 Local Government Areas (LGAs), 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs), and 377 wards in the state.
