Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has taken a strong stance against social media critic Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, calling him a hypocrite and urging Nigerians not to take him seriously.

The actress was responding to claims made by VeryDarkMan that she backed out of an agreement to publicly apologise to Naira Marley and Sam Larry. According to him, the agreement was reached during a meeting at the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC). The meeting reportedly included Iyabo Ojo, Tonto Dikeh, Naira Marley, Sam Larry, and their legal teams.

In a video posted to Instagram on Sunday, Iyabo dismissed his claims as false and manipulative. She described VeryDarkMan as someone who distorts facts for attention.

“VeryDarkMan, I saw your video. I know why you made it. The NCCC probably informed you that I filed a petition. So now, you’re using your usual tactics,” she said.

Iyabo explained that her statements about Naira Marley and Sam Larry were based on disturbing videos and online reports following singer Mohbad’s death. She recalled footage showing Sam Larry allegedly bullying both Zlatan Ibile and Mohbad, which strengthened her belief in the bullying claims.

“I’m a wise woman. I know when to fight, when to speak, and when to stay calm — unlike you, who talks from both sides of the mouth. People should stop taking you seriously,” she added.

The actress clarified that she had never met Naira Marley in person but had previously promoted his music on her social media. She said she was travelling to Tanzania for her daughter Priscilla’s wedding when she received the NCCC’s invitation.

“I saw a video of Naira Marley dancing after Mohbad’s death — it made me angry. I also saw Sam Larry harassing Mohbad. That’s when I believed the bullying stories. As a concerned citizen and a mother, I used my platform to speak up.”
