For Mrs. Francesca Ogbonnaya, a fufu seller in Kano, life took a remarkable turn when she won ₦1 million in Fidelity Bank’s Get Alert in Millions (GAIM) Season 6 savings promotion.
In an exclusive interview, Mrs. Ogbonnaya shared how a routine act of daily savings transformed her business and lifted her financial standing.
“I’m from Delta State, married to a man from Ebonyi, but I was born and raised here in Kano,” Mrs. Ogbonnaya began. “I sell fufu in the market to customers who either resell or use it at home. I started banking with Fidelity Bank around early 2024, and I’ve been very satisfied ever since.”
She explained that her decision to switch to Fidelity Bank stemmed from dissatisfaction with her previous bank. “I had heard so many good things about Fidelity Bank — their customer service and reliability. When I joined, I experienced all those things firsthand. My account officer is always available and attends to me promptly,” she said.
Despite being a regular saver, Mrs. Ogbonnaya had no idea she was participating in any promotion. “I didn’t even know about the GAIM 6 promo,” she laughed. “Every day after sales, I deposit something in my account, no matter how little. I just do my business and save regularly.”
Then came the unexpected call. “One day, while I was sick and resting, I received a call telling me I had won ₦1 million. I couldn’t believe it! I jumped up from my sickbed and ran to my shop to share the news,” she recalled with a smile.
Though some people doubted the news, thinking it might be a scam, Mrs. Ogbonnaya said she had complete faith in her bank. “I went to the branch, and it was true. Fidelity Bank made me a millionaire.”
With the ₦1 million windfall, Mrs. Ogbonnaya decided to reinvest in her business. “I added the money to my capital. The bank advised me on how to use it wisely, and now my business has grown bigger and stronger. Sales are better than before,” she noted.
The fufu seller expressed deep appreciation to Fidelity Bank for supporting customers like her. “I thank the bank for their kindness and for helping ordinary people like me. They should continue this promo because it can change lives, especially for small traders and low-income earners,” she said.
Her message to Nigerians who are yet to open an account with Fidelity Bank is simple and heartfelt. “Fidelity Bank is a good and trustworthy bank. You don’t just keep your money there — your money can make you rich. The GAIM promo changed my life, and it can change yours too,” she said proudly.
