Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Wednesday joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) stakeholders’ meeting in Abuja, alongside former Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai.
In a post shared on his official 𝕏 account on Thursday, Atiku described the gathering as a coalition of Nigerians united against “oligarchs who promote poverty and insecurity.”
“I am at the stakeholders’ meeting of the Coalition African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Abuja. This is a meeting of the Nigerian people against those who sustain poverty and insecurity in the country,” he stated.
Atiku’s attendance highlights his growing engagement with the ADC, which is positioning itself as a coalition platform ahead of the 2027 elections.
Other notable figures at the meeting included former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal, ex-Communications and Digital Economy Minister Isa Ali Pantami, and former Kwara State Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed.
Meanwhile, former Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje attended an All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders’ meeting in Kano on Thursday. This marked his first major political appearance since stepping down as APC National Chairman in June 2025.
The closed-door session drew top party leaders such as Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau, Senator Kawu Sumaila, members of the House of Representatives, and several past and serving political officeholders.
Although details of the meeting were not disclosed, sources suggest discussions centered on consolidating the APC’s strength ahead of the 2027 general elections.
