The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has appealed to Nigerians to rally behind the party in a bid to address the nation’s worsening economic challenges.
In a New Year message, the party’s national chairman, David Mark, acknowledged the severe hardships Nigerians endured in 2025, pointing to the rising cost of living, food prices, essential medicines, and transportation.
Mark criticised the All Progressives Congress (APC) government’s tax reforms, describing them as a source of “renewed hopelessness” for citizens.
He reaffirmed the ADC’s commitment to patriotism and service, urging Nigerians to set aside doubts and join what he described as the party’s historic mission to rebuild the country.
Expressing confidence in the collective strength of the people, Mark said a better Nigeria remains achievable despite present difficulties.
According to him, while 2025 was a difficult year for many Nigerians, it also marked a turning point with the launch of the opposition coalition under the ADC on July 2.
“Since the announcement of the coalition, we have been encouraged by the overwhelming support and enthusiasm of ordinary Nigerians across the country,” Mark said.
He added, “We do not claim to be perfect, but there should be no doubt about our sense of duty and our commitment to stand on the right side of history.”
