Prime Care Hospitals has denied social media reports claiming that popular content creator Mukoro Mitchelle, popularly known as King Mitchy, died at its Abuja facility after allegedly ingesting a harmful substance.
In a statement posted on its official Instagram page on Saturday, the hospital described the reports as false and clarified that King Mitchy was never admitted to the facility.
“The management of Prime Care Hospitals wishes to inform the public that the announcement of the alleged death of Miss Mukoro Mitchelle, popularly known as King Mitchy, at our facility in Abuja is false. King Mitchy was never a patient in our hospital and did not pass away here,” the statement said.
The hospital also said it is working with relevant authorities to trace the source of the misinformation and warned that legal action may be taken against those responsible.
“We are working with authorities to investigate the source of this misinformation and will take all necessary legal actions against those responsible. Please verify information through our official channels before sharing,” it added.
The controversy began after a post on King Mitchy’s official Instagram account, reportedly shared by her management team, announced her alleged death. The post claimed she consumed a harmful substance during a TikTok live session and was rushed to Prime Care Hospital in Abuja, where efforts to save her were unsuccessful.
The post read in part: “We are deeply heartbroken to share that our beloved Michelle has passed on. Despite all efforts from the medical team here in Abuja, we were told her condition was critical, and sadly, she could not be revived.”
It also appealed for help, stating that her mother had collapsed in Lagos and was taken to a hospital.
The conflicting reports have left fans and followers confused, as King Mitchy’s alleged death has not been independently confirmed by her family, authorities, or other credible sources.
The controversy reportedly followed an online dispute between King Mitchy and activist VeryDarkMan. The disagreement began after Mitchy criticised the activist over a school renovation project in Delta State, urging transparency in the activities of his non-governmental organisation.
The exchange later escalated into accusations and name-calling across social media platforms.
