Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has officially left the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Amaechi announced his resignation in an interview after the unveiling of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, interim executives in Abuja on Wednesday.
He claimed the ruling party was working with the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to hijack the upcoming 2027 elections.
Amaechi revealed he resigned from APC on Tuesday night and expressed surprise that the party had not expelled him, despite warning them to stop inviting him to meetings.
When asked why he chose to leave APC without supporting the current administration, Amaechi said:
“It’s not just about changing the government. Nigeria is destroyed. People can’t eat. Inflation is at its peak. The federal government is busy trying to hijack the election, and INEC is helping them.
“We need a movement, not just a party. A movement that will empower Nigerians to take over government themselves.”
