Nollywood marketer and IbakaTV CEO, Kazim Adeoti, has finally revealed the real reason behind his marriage to popular actress Mercy Aigbe.

Speaking during a candid interview on Oyinmomo TV, Adeoti shared how Aigbe’s honesty and integrity won his heart from their early days working together in the film industry.

“Mercy Aigbe is someone I’ve known for a long time, even before we met physically. What I admire most about her is that she’s truthful and straightforward,” he said.

Recalling an encounter from 2011 during the production of Hajia Jemila, Adeoti revealed that after paying Aigbe for her role, she surprisingly returned some money, saying he had overpaid her.

“In this industry, it’s common for people to complain about payment, but Mercy was different. That act of honesty stood out for me,” he noted.

He described their union as divinely ordained, saying, “When God destined us to be together, it happened, and God has been blessing us.”

Kazim also acknowledged Aigbe’s contribution to his career, saying her experience as an actress makes her a valuable voice in his productions. “She has a busy schedule but whenever I ask for her opinion, she gives honest feedback,” he added.

The couple’s marriage was made public in January 2022, causing a stir online, especially after Adeoti’s first wife, Funsho, accused Aigbe of “snatching” her husband.

Despite the backlash, Kazim stood by his decision, defending his right to marry a second wife.

In 2023, Mercy Aigbe converted to Islam, citing her love for Adeoti as one of the reasons for her decision.
