Amodu, who has been gaining popularity with his viral hit single Faanu Yanju e, made the announcement through his production outfit, Irenitemi International. According to the statement, Ago Alago will premiere exclusively on his YouTube channel, IRENITEMITV.
Star-Studded Cast and Powerful Message
The film boasts an impressive cast of Nollywood stars, including Ayo Olaiya, Aisha Raji, Aunty Ajara, Don Richard, Prince Akande Roland, and Kehinde Asekunlowo. Amodu revealed that the movie explores powerful themes such as self-identity, contentment, and the dangers of envy and imitation.
“It teaches the importance of being content with your current stage in life,” he explained. “It cautions against mimicking others simply because they seem successful. This story promotes integrity and urges people to stay true to their personal journey.”
Set in a contemporary Yoruba society, Ago Alago draws from deep-rooted traditional values, religious principles, and cultural heritage. Amodu noted that the storyline blends modern settings with timeless moral lessons.
“It reflects today’s society while calling for a return to the values that shaped our communities,” he added.
The filmmaker dedicated the movie to God and his parents, Pastor Samson Amodu and Deaconess Esther Amodu, acknowledging their role in instilling the virtues of contentment and faith.
“I owe who I am today to my parents. They taught me to live with contentment and honour God in all things,” he said.
Renowned movie critic Opeyemi Joshua described Ago Alago as a film that will likely strike a chord with audiences both in Nigeria and the diaspora. “With its June 7 release drawing near, expectations are high. Ago Alago promises to deliver a compelling blend of tradition and modern-day realities,” he remarked.
