He said the suspects were apprehended by troops of Operation Hadin Kai at Liya in Biu Local Government Area after intelligence reports linked them to the transportation of arms.

“Two NURTW members were arrested while receiving a waybill from a truck driver. The recovered items included 13 pairs of military uniforms and high-voltage batteries,” Kangye stated.

In addition, troops arrested 11 terrorist collaborators and rescued seven kidnapped victims across the North-East. Sixteen family members of terrorists, comprising four adult females and 12 children, also surrendered to troops in Bama LGA of Borno State on Monday. Preliminary investigations revealed they fled from Bakura Jega village.

Furthermore, troops apprehended a 65-year-old logistics supplier for terrorists at Damasak Motor Park in Yobe State, recovering arms, ammunition, IEDs, and ₦17,150 in cash.

Maj.-Gen. Kangye also revealed that troops of Operation UDO KA arrested a tax collector working for the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and Eastern Security Network (ESN) in Anambra State.

“On July 10, troops arrested an IPOB/ESN collaborator commissioned to collect taxes from locals in Ihiala LGA. The suspect was found with ₦1.5 million,” he said.
