President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is currently holding a closed-door meeting with key members of his economic and fiscal management team at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
In attendance are the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun; Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Atiku Bagudu; Minister of State for Petroleum (Gas), Ekperikpe Ekpo; Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Olayemi Cardoso; and Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Zacch Adedeji.
The officials arrived individually for the session.
Although the specific agenda has not been disclosed, sources within the presidency indicated that it is a routine meeting where senior officials brief the President on developments in their respective sectors.
FIRS Chairman Zacch Adedeji is expected to update the President on the implementation roadmap for four newly signed tax laws scheduled to take effect from January 2026.
Additionally, the CBN is expected to provide updates on Nigeria’s monetary and fiscal policy outlook amid ongoing efforts to stabilise the naira and curb inflation.
Reports on macroeconomic indicators, budget implementation, and projections for the year’s second half were also presented by Mr. Edun and Senator Bagudu.
