“This Is Blackmail” – Patience Ozokwor Breaks Silence Over Allegation of Seizing Widow’s Land

“This Is Blackmail” – Patience Ozokwor Breaks Silence Over Allegation of Seizing Widow’s Land

Veteran Nollywood actress Patience Ozokwor, popularly known as Mama G, has strongly denied allegations that she seized land from a widow. A viral video recently showed a woman and her daughter accusing the actress of taking over land left by their late husband and father.

Ozokwor Says Land Was Legally Purchased in 2010

In a lengthy Instagram post, Ozokwor gave her side of the story. She explained that she legally purchased the land in 2010 — 15 years ago, with the widow’s full knowledge. In fact, she claimed the widow contacted her agent to help sell the property.

“The landowner was aware of the sale,” she wrote. “She approached my agent herself to find a buyer.”

The actress said everything remained peaceful until 2023. That year, the widow allegedly tried to resell part of the land. Ozokwor said she found out and fenced the property to protect her legal claim.

“She decided to sell a plot out of my land without my knowledge,” Ozokwor explained. “I acted to protect what I lawfully bought.”

Shortly after that, the widow and her daughter appeared online, claiming the land was their inheritance.

Ozokwor described the entire situation as blackmail. According to her, the women used her public image to gain sympathy and collect donations online.

“They are using my name to trend,” she said. “People are giving them money and insulting me over lies.”

She added that their actions were not only false but deeply malicious.

Ozokwor stated that she has no interest in dragging the matter online. Instead, she has turned to legal channels to protect her name and reputation.

“Social media is not a court,” she noted. “I’m pursuing legal means to clear my name.”

“It took years to build my career. I will not let lies destroy it.”

The actress also blamed bloggers for spreading the viral story without confirming the facts. She urged media platforms to act responsibly when covering sensitive issues.

“I am disappointed that some bloggers reposted the video without fact-checking,” she said. “Now I say to you, meet me in court.”

Supporters React Online

Fans and colleagues have started reacting to her statement. While some apologized for judging too quickly, others urged both parties to let the law decide.

For now, Patience Ozokwor remains firm. She insists the land is legally hers, and she’s ready to prove it in court.
