Nigerian singer Peter Okoye, also known as Mr P, has responded to a long-standing false narrative about his music career.
A fan recently praised Mr P in a post on 𝕏 (formerly Twitter), recalling how many once believed he couldn’t sing and was only known for dancing. The fan commended him for proving critics wrong and becoming a successful artist.
The post read:
“Person wey them talk say him no sabi sing say na dance him dey dance, na him come sabi sing pass… false narrative.”
In response, Mr P shared a message encouraging fans to recognize their worth. He advised people to never stay in places where they are not valued.
He wrote:
“But sadly, most people fall for it. In this life, always know your worth. Don’t settle for less, and never stay where you’re not valued or respected. Respect yourself enough to leave any place where your efforts are not appreciated. #TheyLied”
MI Abaga Opens Up About Marriage and Finding Love Later in Life
In another story, award-winning rapper MI Abaga shared his personal journey toward marriage.
During an interview on the Jay On Air podcast, he revealed that he once felt left out. Many of his friends married in their twenties and were already raising teenagers. Meanwhile, he remained single into his late thirties.
However, things changed just before he turned 40. He met his now-wife shortly after ending a previous relationship. That moment, he said, shifted his perspective completely.
MI Abaga explained that the delay taught him a valuable lesson: everyone has their own timeline. He added that being emotionally ready is key to a lasting relationship.
