Reality TV star and social media influencer, Tacha Akide, has revealed her growing interest in politics, saying her motivation stems from a desire to promote good governance and make life better for Nigerians.
Speaking in an interview with BBC Pidgin, the former Big Brother Naija housemate said politics plays a crucial role in shaping the daily lives of citizens, stressing that one government policy can either uplift or destroy livelihoods.
Tacha noted that instead of constantly complaining about the system, she believes getting involved in politics offers a chance to contribute to real change.
“I feel like if you keep complaining about something, it only makes sense to get involved and maybe make certain decisions that’ll make things easier for people,” she said.
She added that she intends to use her influence to advocate for accountability and effective leadership in Nigeria.
“People always say after God, it’s politics — and truly, one policy from the government can make or break you. At the end of the day, it makes sense to get involved,” she said.
“Politics is something I’m passionate about. For now, I may not be making the decisions, but I’ll continue using my platform to promote good governance and hold leaders accountable.”
