Africa’s agricultural transformation takes centre stage as Agriculture Summit Africa (ASA) 2025 returns under the theme, “Survival of the Greenest: Reclaiming Africa’s Food Destiny.” Scheduled for November 6–7, 2025, at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, the summit promises to explore sustainable pathways for financing, innovation, and growth across the continent’s agricultural sector.

Now in its eighth edition, ASA is convened by Sterling Bank and brings together policymakers, investors, agribusiness leaders, and innovators from across Africa and beyond. The summit aims to foster solutions that address productivity challenges, climate change impacts, and access to finance, positioning Africa as a global agricultural powerhouse.

At a press briefing announcing the summit, Abubakar Suleiman, Managing Director and CEO of Sterling Bank, emphasized the bank’s vision: “Africa’s food future will be secured not by chance but through deliberate, collective effort. Agriculture remains central to Africa’s social, economic, and environmental transformation. ASA 2025 unites policymakers, innovators, and investors to reclaim Africa’s food destiny.”

Olushola Obikanye, Group Head of Agric Finance and Solid Minerals at Sterling Bank, added, “The theme, ‘Survival of the Greenest,’ reflects the urgency and opportunity ahead. ASA provides a platform where governments, financiers, innovators, and farmers can collaborate to strengthen value chains, unlock funding, and promote inclusive growth. Agriculture is not just an economic imperative—it is the heartbeat of Africa’s transformation.”

The two-day summit will welcome delegates from over 30 African countries, featuring high-level panels, keynote addresses, policy dialogues, exhibitions, and an Investment Deal Room connecting investors with promising agribusiness ventures.

Sunbeth Global Concepts, a leading agro-commodities sourcing and trading company, will co-convene the event. Eyitemi Adebowale, Head of Corporate Affairs and Communications at Sunbeth, said, “Through ASA 2025, we aim to spotlight solutions that empower farmers, attract investment, and promote climate-smart practices that enhance resilience across Africa.”

Strategic partners, including Mastercard, will lead discussions on digital tools for agricultural transformation. Additional partners and sponsors include the International Finance Corporation (IFC), The Alternative Bank, Arzikin Noma, ONE Foundation, Noor Takaful, Bühler, among others, highlighting a shared commitment to sustainable agriculture and financial inclusion.
