President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been honoured with the prestigious title of Knight Commander of the Order of Saint Lucia (KCOSL). The conferment took place on Monday, June 30, during his recent official visit to the Caribbean nation.
According to a statement from the Office of the Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Philip Pierre, the title was conferred on the Nigerian leader by the Governor General of Saint Lucia in recognition of his leadership and contributions to Africa and the global community.
“The Government of Saint Lucia is pleased to announce that the Governor General has conferred the title of Knight Commander of the Order of Saint Lucia (KCOSL) upon His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” the statement read.
In a separate post on X, the Prime Minister’s Office expressed that President Tinubu’s visit instilled a sense of pride and optimism among Saint Lucians, adding that both nations are committed to strengthening diplomatic and economic ties.
“A sense of pride and promise filled the room following President Tinubu’s exciting announcements and the government’s deliberate efforts to forge new bonds with Nigeria and other African nations,” it stated.
