Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, on Thursday visited several Area Councils in Abuja to campaign ahead of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council elections.

In a statement on his verified X account, Obi said he personally engaged with grassroots communities, stressing that leadership is built through presence, perseverance, and genuine connection. He added that effective leadership must remain accessible and rooted in the everyday realities of the people.

The former Anambra governor also reaffirmed his dedication to inclusive development across all sectors of society.

“Today, I began at our office in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) with a clear goal: to engage directly with the grassroots and promote a vision of leadership that truly serves the people.

“My first stop was Abaji Area Council, campaigning alongside Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim, the ADC chairmanship candidate, where I spent an hour walking through the community, listening to residents and understanding their concerns.

“I then moved to Kwali Area Council to support Jeremiah Badoji, the ADC chairmanship candidate, dedicating another hour to meet and interact with the people.

“Next, I visited Zuba to campaign for Pharmacist Iko Danjuma, the ADC chairmanship candidate for Gwagwalada Area Council, and later engaged traders and residents at Deidei Market while supporting Dr. Moses Paul, the ADC chairmanship candidate for AMAC,” he wrote.
