The African Democratic Congress (ADC) National Publicity Secretary condemned the Ozoro assault videos on women in Delta State as “horrifying,” saying it’s especially disturbing that the abuse happened in a university town where young women “should feel safe.”
The national publicity secretary of ADC, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, in a statement on X, said the act is reprehensible, and has no place in Nigeria.
“The ADC insists on zero impunity,” Abdullahi stressed, urging police to “be thorough and make an example of this case” so that “every single man that participated” in the harassment and assault is identified and prosecuted.
He also faulted Delta State’s governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, for not speaking directly days later, calling the reliance on aides “a failure of moral leadership.” Abdullahi added: “This is reprehensible, and it has no place in Nigeria.”
He further cautioned, “Silence at a time like this is a failure of moral leadership.”
