An Oyo State High Court in Ibadan has postponed the hearing of a suit filed by Folahan Adelabi against the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), its Acting National Chairman, and others, rescheduling it for Wednesday.
Last week, Justice Ladiran Akintola had ruled on an ex parte motion, allowing the PDP to proceed with its planned national convention while adjourning the main motion to Monday, November 10, 2025.
The plaintiff is seeking a court order to prevent Acting National Chairman Umar Damagum, Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri (representing himself and the National Convention Organising Committee), and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) or their agents from disrupting the party’s national convention.
On Monday, after hearing arguments from both sides, Justice Akintola directed the parties to submit all necessary documents to ensure the case proceeds effectively. The judge also instructed the PDP to strictly follow the previously released guidelines, timetable, and activities for the convention.
The court will hear all pending applications on Wednesday. Meanwhile, journalists were denied access to the courtroom, with security personnel stationed at the entrance to prevent media coverage of the proceedings.
