His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR, the Olu of Warri, has established the Iwere Trust Foundation (ITF) with a personal seed donation of ₦750 million. The launch took place at the Aghofen Palace during his 4th coronation anniversary celebrations.
Before thousands of subjects, leaders, and well-wishers, the monarch stressed that Itsekiri progress must come from within.
“Only the Itsekiri people can truly develop their ancestral homeland,” he said. “I have committed ₦750 million and now invite Itsekiris worldwide to support this shared vision.”
The crowd erupted in chants of “Oba-oke, Oba-omi, Ogiame Suoooii!”
Ogiame Atuwatse III will serve as Chairman of the Fund. He explained that the ITF will channel resources into life-changing projects for Itsekiri communities. The foundation seeks to turn aspirations of prosperity into practical results, reflecting his vision of a self-reliant nation.
Observers praised the move as a defining milestone in his reign. They described the initiative as a call to unity and a shift from symbolism to tangible action. The foundation now stands as both the climax of the anniversary and a hopeful gift to future generations.
