Former National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Iyiola Omisore, has said he is unaware of any plans by Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, to defect to the APC.
Omisore made this known on Wednesday during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, where he dismissed reports suggesting that Governor Adeleke was considering joining the party.
“I am not aware,” he said. “When someone wants to join a party, there must be a willing reception from members. Politics is very local; they must come to the home.”
When asked whether Adeleke’s defection would strengthen the APC, Omisore declined to give a direct answer but noted that there is nothing wrong if the governor chooses to join.
He, however, cautioned that joining the APC is not something that happens merely on social media.
“The state is becoming unsettled because people are agitated. Even PDP representatives are struggling to join the APC,” Omisore added.
