Leaders and members of the Host Communities of Nigeria Producing Oil and Gas (HOSTCOM) have expressed strong support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, asserting that Nigeria needs his leadership beyond 2027.
At a press briefing in Ajuba, Benjamin Tamaranebi, the President of HOSTCOM, endorsed Tinubu for a second term, emphasizing that the continuation of his administration is vital for the nation’s stability and growth.
A Vision for Nigeria’s Future
Touted as a turning point for Nigeria’s economic recovery, Tamaranebi pointed out that 2027 will offer Nigerians a stark choice: continuity or chaos. He stressed that under Tinubu’s leadership, Nigeria has seen key reforms that have set the country on the path to prosperity.
“We believe the President should remain in office until 2031 to ensure the completion of the ongoing development initiatives in all six geopolitical zones,” Tamaranebi said. He added that Tinubu’s bold reforms and policies have helped Nigeria overcome significant challenges, including dwindling oil production and rising debt burdens.
Highlighting Tinubu’s leadership qualities, Tamaranebi noted that despite initial skepticism, the President had proved his critics wrong. “With determination and vision, Tinubu has managed to steer the country through difficult times,” he said.
The HOSTCOM President also praised Tinubu’s efforts to empower local communities, stressing that these initiatives should not be interrupted. “In politics, the future is not built in just four years. It takes patience, persistence, and vision. Tinubu has demonstrated all of these qualities,” Tamaranebi remarked.
The group’s backing comes after a thorough assessment of the President’s performance over his first term, with Tompolo, the grand patron of HOSTCOM, also lauding Tinubu for his human development achievements.
Tompolo, a prominent Ijaw leader, believes that Tinubu’s leadership has positively impacted the nation, making him the right choice for a second term. As 2027 approaches, the group is adamant that maintaining the current course is in Nigeria’s best interest.
