His former aide, Bashir Ahmad, confirmed his passing in a post on X.
“The family of the former president has announced the passing of Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, this afternoon at a clinic in London. May Allah grant him Aljannatul Firdaus. Amin,” Ahmad wrote.
