Fidelity Bank Plc has extended a helping hand to residents of Mokwa, Niger State, affected by recent flooding, distributing food packs to over 1,500 people through its Fidelity Food Bank Initiative.

The initiative, a key part of the bank’s corporate social responsibility, aims to support vulnerable communities across Nigeria. This latest intervention was designed to provide relief to families displaced by the devastating floods in the region.

Speaking on the gesture, Dr. Meksley Nwagboh, the Divisional Head of Brand and Communications at Fidelity Bank, emphasized the bank’s commitment to standing with affected communities. “This is more than just a relief effort — it’s a demonstration of our dedication to the people we serve,” he said.

The donation event drew a high-profile presence, including Niger State First Lady Hajiya Fatima Umaru Bago; Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Abubakar Usman Gawu; and several top government officials and local government chairmen, all present to show solidarity with Mokwa residents.

This move by Fidelity Bank follows similar relief efforts, including donations to victims of a fire in Taraba State and the Zaria mosque collapse.

Fidelity Bank, which serves over 9.1 million customers, continues to gain recognition for its digital banking innovation and SME support, with multiple awards to its name in 2024 alone.
