In a heartwarming display of corporate social responsibility, Fidelity Bank Plc has donated essential items to the Old People’s Home in Yaba, Lagos.
Staff-Led Initiative
The gesture was spearheaded by members of the bank’s Nexus Inductees Class, under its Fidelity Helping Hands Programme (FHHP) — an internal CSR initiative that empowers staff to identify and support causes within their communities.
Through FHHP, staff members raise funds for selected projects, with the bank matching their contributions to double the impact.
Speaking during the donation, Dr. Meksley Nwagboh, Divisional Head, Brand and Communications at Fidelity Bank, described the act as a way of honoring the elderly who have contributed immensely to society.
“Our donation is a token of appreciation to the parents and guardians who raised individuals that trust us with their banking needs,” he said. “We are proud to support the comfort and dignity of our senior citizens.”
Home Director, Beneficiaries Appreciate Support
Director-in-Charge of the Home, Adetutu Ipaye, commended the bank’s continued support.
“This kind of community-driven support is crucial to our mission. We call on other organizations to emulate Fidelity Bank’s effort,” she urged.
One of the residents, Mr. Kamoru Adeyetu, also expressed joy at the visit.
“More than the gifts, your presence today means a lot. Please don’t forget to visit again,” he said with a smile.
