Fayose Warns PDP Leaders: “Wike’s Troubles Have Just Begun”

Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has cautioned leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to prepare for what he described as a looming political showdown with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.

Speaking in a viral Facebook video on Sunday, Fayose described Wike as a fierce political figure who never retreats once provoked. He advised the PDP leadership to tread carefully, saying the party might face a prolonged battle if it chooses to confront the former Rivers State governor.

“I know Wike very well. If you have issues with him, you either run or find a way to resolve it. Otherwise, he will give you double of whatever you bargain for,” Fayose said.

He continued, “If you look for Wike’s wahala, it’s no retreat, no surrender. Once he starts, whatever your eyes see, just take it like that. This PDP crisis, as far as Wike is concerned, is just beginning.”

Fayose warned that the party’s internal wrangling was far from over and predicted that Wike’s reaction to recent developments could further deepen the division within the opposition.

“If you look for one pound wahala, he’ll give you twenty pounds. If you look for ₦20 wahala, he’ll give you ₦500. Even you yourself won’t have peace,” Fayose added.

PDP Crisis Deepens Amid Court Ruling

Fayose’s comments come as the PDP continues to grapple with internal conflicts following a Federal High Court ruling in Abuja. Justice James Omotosho had restrained the party from holding its planned national convention in Ibadan, Oyo State, later this month.

In the wake of the judgment, the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) suspended several top officials, including National Secretary Samuel Anyanwu, Legal Adviser Kamaldeen Ajibade, Deputy Legal Adviser Okechukwu Osuoha, and National Organising Secretary Umaru Bature, for one month.

In a counter move, a faction loyal to Anyanwu announced the suspension of Acting National Chairman Umar Damagum and named Mohammed Abdulrahman as acting chairman.

The developments mark yet another escalation in the PDP’s leadership crisis, with Fayose’s remarks suggesting that more turbulence could lie ahead as Wike’s next political steps unfold.
