DSS Boss Donates Free School for Orphans in Kaduna

The Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Mr. Oluwatosin Adeola Ajayi has made a remarkable donation by establishing a free Islamic school for orphans and vulnerable children in Kaduna State. This project, led by the DSS Director-General’s donation for orphan education in Kaduna, is named the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Centre for Islamic Studies. The school, located in Danbushiya community, New Millennium City, Chikun Local Government Area, officially opened on Saturday. Ajayi funded the project with support from friends and associates. Their goal is to offer free Islamic and Western education to orphaned and indigent children in the area.

Community Leaders Praise Initiative as Symbol of Unity and Hope

At the commissioning ceremony, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, called the project a beacon of hope during national hardship. He praised Ajayi’s generosity and urged other privileged Nigerians to follow his example.

“This school represents a major investment in our children’s future,” said the Sultan. “It is remarkable that a non-Muslim built it for Muslim orphans. This shows unity, compassion, and the hope we must keep alive for Nigeria.”

Finance Minister Wale Edun also praised the DSS chief. He used the occasion to highlight the government’s economic progress. “Recent reforms are stabilizing the economy. Inflation is slowing, and foreign reserves are growing,” Edun explained. “The economy is getting stronger. With current policies, we’re on track for sustainable growth and job creation.”

Retired DSS Director Alhaji Ahmed Zarma represented Ajayi at the event. He said the project aims to build public trust and boost national security through education and community engagement.

Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani sent his deputy, Hadiza Balarabe, to the ceremony. She described the school as a symbol of unity and development. She also reaffirmed the state’s commitment to reducing inequality through education.

“This school offers not just education but also opportunity and hope. We are proud to support this initiative in our state,” Balarabe said.

Officials stated the centre bears President Tinubu’s name in recognition of his leadership and dedication to national progress.

The commissioning ceremony attracted religious leaders, government officials, traditional rulers, and members of the public.
