Nollywood actress Doris Ogala and comedian Akpororo have traded words over his comments on her ongoing dispute with Pastor Chris Okafor, founder of Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministries.
Naija News reports that the issue began after Akpororo used Instagram to advise Ogala to stop taking her matter with Okafor to social media and instead settle it in private.
He said the backlash against the pastor was mainly because he is a cleric and added that the situation was not as serious as it was being made to look.
He also suggested that if Okafor were not a pastor, Ogala would have been the one facing criticism.
Akpororo went further to warn that continuing to talk about the matter online made it look like she was overdoing it.
He urged her to take it off social media, saying it would work in her favour and allow both sides to discuss and resolve it quietly.
Ogala replied on Instagram, saying the comedian did not understand what she was going through and had no right to tell her how to handle her situation.
She insisted that speaking out publicly was necessary for her safety.
She accused Akpororo of being a hypocrite and claimed his position was influenced by money he had received from Okafor.
The actress also warned him to stop getting involved, threatening to expose alleged past misconduct involving women if he continued.
She said he was close to Okafor and had performed at his church several times, adding that he should not interfere again.
She claimed that what she was dealing with was bigger than him and that he should have reached out to her privately instead of speaking online.
Akpororo responded by daring Ogala to carry out her threat. He gave her until the end of the day to release the alleged video she talked about and mocked her for making the claim.
The clash between Ogala and Okafor began weeks earlier after a video of the pastor’s engagement to Pearl Okafor appeared online.
Ogala claimed she had been in a romantic relationship with Okafor since 2017.
She said she ended her previous marriage because of him and accused him of betraying her after years of intimacy and repeated promises of marriage.
She later issued an ultimatum, demanding that Okafor either marry her or pay her compensation.
The demand later rose to N1 billion for breach of promise.
Despite the outburst and threats, Okafor went ahead to marry Pearl in both white and traditional wedding ceremonies.
He first described Ogala’s reaction as anger from the devil over his public happiness.
Days later, he publicly knelt and apologised to her, admitting that her claims about their past relationship were true.
