Former Kogi West senator, Dino Melaye, has launched a fresh attack on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He claimed the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has taken over the party and destroyed its independence.

Speaking on Arise Television, Melaye insisted that the PDP no longer represents a credible opposition. He stressed that the party had lost its voice and direction.

“Apart from our Lord Jesus Christ, no dead can rise again. PDP is dead and buried. The party was sold, and I doubt they even got the receipt. What you have now is an APC-controlled PDP,” he said.

Melaye further accused APC loyalists of influencing PDP decisions. According to him, the opposition now receives orders directly from the Villa.

The former lawmaker, who once ran under the PDP, explained that he has moved to the African Democratic Congress (ADC). He described the ADC as the only party strong enough to challenge President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections.

“I’m a proud member of the ADC, and by God’s grace, that is the party that will remove Tinubu and send APC out of the Villa on May 29, 2027,” he declared.

He also urged Nigerians to look beyond PDP’s downfall and pay attention to the real issues.

“There are urgent problems facing this country: hunger, malnutrition, poor leadership, and corruption. These are the matters we should focus on, not a dead party,” Melaye said.
